The Use of Folklore Elements in Shahodat Isakhonova’s Historical Novels

Abstract

The writer Sh. Isakhanova, who has taken her place in the field of Uzbek literature, takes the path of describing the most important aspects of the hero's life and revealing the roots of the formation of the characteristics of his character and actions. In Adiba's novels, this method of epic imagery can be observed in the concepts of space, time and personality, the ability to convincingly describe various life events, and reflect reality from different angles. In her historical novels, Sh. Isakhonova makes extensive use of the riches of the living folk language and the norms of the literary language in revealing the personality of a woman, her character, and her spirituality, and in turn contributes to the growth of both the living language and the literary language. The writer, choosing words and phrases based on the essence of the events and the character of the characters, makes a worthy contribution to today's Uzbek novelism in terms of the fluency and sharpness of her artistic language. The article presents the stylistic skills of creating the characters of women of different social backgrounds in the historical novels "The Princess Caught in the Trap of Genghis Khan", "Bibikhanim", "Gavharshod Begim", and "Nodirai Davron" written by Sh. Isakhanova during the years of independence, based on artistic evidence.
